Before joining the University of Colorado in 1995, he developed algorithms and architectures for hardware neural networks at Bell Communications Research and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He is the recipient of the NSF CAREER Award and the Colorado Junior Faculty Development Award. He has over 50 publications to his credit and has worked with over 150 students on Thesis and Capstone projects.
